Il progetto “Omaggio a Joni Mitchell, nasce nel 2009 dal duo Alessia Magalotti alla voce e Anastasia Magalotti al pianoforte. Ben presto però si sente la necessità di aggiungere un terzo strumento: la chitarra. Tra tutti i vari successi di Joni Mitchell vengono ripresi i suoi primi album, ossia: Song To a Seagull; Clouds; Lady is on the Canyon; Blue, eseguiti in versione acustica. il duo comincia ad esibirsi nei vari locali e teatri in tutta Italia e nelle varie radio e manifestazioni italiane riscuotendo un notevole successo (come ad esempio Radio Rock; in occasione della “Festa europea della musica” a Roma presso la Sala Santa Rita; nella rassegna il “Palazzetto dell’Arte” a Sovana (GR) presso il Palazzo Bourbon del Monte; Nella manifestazione Farfa Voice festival, ArteR.i.E – Rassegna di ipotesi espressive e molte altre. Nel 2010 viene registrato l’Album “NEREIDE SINGS JONI MITCHELL” contenente alcuni brani del repertorio, che viene inserito anche nel sito ufficiale della stessa cantautrice http://jonimitchell.com/music/covers-details.cfm?id=Nereide&from=search
Nel 2013 i brani vengono nuovamente arrangiati con l’inserimento del violino. Il progetto prende così un nuovo aspetto, molto più intimo e raffinato rispetto al precedente.
